The third single from Janet Jackson's eighth studio album, "Damita Jo" (2004), the song contains a sample of Herbie Hancock's 1975 song "Hang up Your Hang Ups". It was the lead double A-side with "I Want You", released internationally in countries like the United Kingdom and Australia, and contains the B-side "Put Your Hands On", which appears as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of "Damita Jo". The song "R&B Junkie" can be found on the promo vinyl single of "All Nite (Don't Stop)".

Jackson performed a medley of "All Nite (Don't Stop)" and "R&B Junkie" at the 2004 BET Awards, together with Elephant Man, [ [http://www.reggaereview.com/archives/1004feature.htm Archives - October 2004 ] ] a dancehall artist who has songs with lyrics of homophobic nature and also remixed "All Nite (Don't Stop)". This was after Jackson had aplogised to the gay community for her previous collaboration with Beenie Man, also known for his anti-gay lyrics, on his 2002 single "Feel It Boy". Chart performance

The song peaked at number nineteen on the "Billboard" Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. Although not her first single to miss the Hot 100, it was still a major disappointment. The song missed the top thirty in most of European countries. It did, however, reach number twenty-four in Australia and number nineteen in the UK. Despite the single's rather poor success, "All Nite (Don't Stop)" managed to top the Hot Dance Club Play chart, securing yet another chart-topping dance hit for Jackson.

In mid-March 2008, the single re-entered the Hot 100 Singles Sales at number forty, giving it a new peak.

Music video

The video was directed by Francis Lawrence (who also directed 2001's "Someone to Call My Lover"). It was filmed at the El Dorado Hotel, an abandoned hotel in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, during a blackout. Dancers are seen lounging. One dancer finds a battery and hooks it up to large stereo system and the music then starts. Jackson is laying on a table as she says, "Attention, it's time to dance". Jackson and her dancers conduct choreography until power is restored, lighting a sign saying "Damita Jo".

After the Super Bowl incident, MTV refused to air Jackson's new videos including "All Nite (Don't Stop)". The video could only be seen on MTV Hits and MTV Jams. It aired regularly on BET and VH1. The video is featured on the 2004 video compilation "".
