Marion Sylvester Barber, Jr. (born December 6, 1959 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is a former American football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He played for the Jets from 1982-1988. He attended the University of Minnesota. He is the father of current Chicago Bears Pro Bowl running back Marion Barber III and Houston Texans safety Dominique Barber, both of whom also played at Minnesota.
Barber attended Chadsey High School in Detroit, Michigan,and is the son of Marion Sylvester Barber.
