civil parish in theSouth Kesteven district ofLincolnshire ,England , about ten miles north of Bourne and ten miles south of Sleaford on the B1177 betweenHorbling andPointon just south of the A52.The name of the village comes from the post-Roman Billings tribe of invaders. The parish church is St Andrew. The Fens . According to the 2001 census, it had a population of 1,098. It also has a pre-school, aprimary school ( [http://www.billingborough.vschool.org.uk Billingborough primary school] ) and a secondary modern ( [http://www.aveland.lincs.sch.uk Aveland High School] ). The catchment area for the school straddles the boundary ofNorth Kesteven and South Kesteven, with many pupils living just south ofSleaford . Most Lincolnshire school catchment areas do not straddle district boundaries.Alan Stennett, of Radio Lincolnshire was born in the village. Richard Nauyokas, of Lads Army also lives in the village. The Primary school in Billingborough is great it has everything including a Gardening Club to help children learn about where plants and vegetables come from. Two food cooking groups, Food Factory for the younger ones and Go Cook for the older ones. There is a wide range of extra curriculum activities including a football club on a Monday and an after-school sports club on a Friday they also let the children have a little bit of free-time to chill-out and relax with 25 minutes "Golden Time". There are always activities going on such as football matches with other schools, Sports days, Talent contests etc. etc. With the help of the schools very own School Council lead by Mrs Lee and The Healthy Heroes lead by Mrs McCormack.
