Chevreuse is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France.

History
Chevreuse was founded in the 10th century, and celebrated its first millennium of existence in 1980. The evidence of such history can best be seen by the presence of a castle dating back to the same time (Château de la Madeleine).
Geography
Chevreuse is located south of Paris, in the middle of a regional national park (Parc Naturel Régional de la Haute Vallée de Chevreuse).
Transportation
Chevreuse is serviced by the Paris Metro system (RER B line) at the Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse station in the neighboring commune by the same name.
