Aughton is bounded on the west by the A59
Liverpool toPreston road and bisected to the east by theB5197 Ormskirk toKirkby road that runs north-south through the village.The parish has two railway stations, Town Green and Aughton Park, both on the Northern Line of the
Merseyrail network, and part of the formerLiverpool, Ormskirk and Preston Railway .Facilities
The Aughton police station now occupies rooms opening off the booking hall of the Town Green station having moved in 2006 from premises in Holt Green.
Aughton has two shopping areas; in Aughton village and Town Green. Aughton also possesses a
