Kemblesville is an unincorporated community in Franklin Township, Chester County,
Pennsylvania ,United States . Located in the southern part of the county, it lies in the southeastern part of the state.History
The roots of the community date back to the late
1700s The community derives its name from the Kemble family, who settled the area in colonial times. The Kemble family is burried within the Cemetery at Kemblesville Methodist church. There are also many historic street names, such as Kimbelot Lane derives its name from the Kimble Family. Also Parsons road derives its name from the Parsons family.Benjamin Franklin is thought to have owned property within the current town limits.Currently, the community houses a number of historic homes, along with a gas station, a Methodist church, and a pizza parlor (Village Pizza, formerly Prima's Pizza). A Happy Harry's drug store building was completed but the property is now up for sale, so the building goes unused. The US Postal Service maintains a modern post office on the outskirts of the town. Behind the post office lies a public building used for voting and dining on occasion.
Kemblesville Elementary
The School was built in 1955, and was closed down in 2002. It was apart of the
Avon Grove School District . The reason for the close of the school was the building ofAvon Grove Intermediate school . Avon Grove Intermediate houses grades 3-6, and grades k-2 are housed inPenn London Elementary . After being closed, it was a very popular spot for vandals. It is currently the property of The Avon Grove Charter School, and security cameras have been used to stop the increase in vandalism since its abandonment. Renovations on the school began in early 2008. The goal of the school is to reopen before the 2008-2009 school year.Avon Grove Charter School Early Learning Center At Kemblesville
At the beginning of the '08-'09 school year, construction was completed on the school building. It reopened on September 2nd, 2008, under the name "The Avon Grove Charter School Early Learning Center At Kemblesville". The school's reopening has brought some new life back to the town, in which it was lacking since the closing of KES. The school houses grades k-3.

The community is located 15 minutes north of
Newark, Delaware . While the area remains relatively rural, increasing development pressures are slowly bringing change to the community.The local ZIP code is 19347.
