OpenGEM is a non-multitasking 16-bit GUI.
OpenGEM was designed to provide commercial-quality software for DOS users and was intended to provide a GUI system and windowing framework for the FreeDOS operating system.
OpenGEM was developed by the Shane Land website, and is free software released under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). As of December 2009, 'Shane Land' does not contain the OpenGEM downloads. Different versions of OpenGEM can be found at the FreeDOS website.
