Andy Frost (disk jockey)

Andy Frost (disk jockey)

Andy Frost (born April 15, 1956 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is the public address announcer at the Air Canada Centre during all home games for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He replaced long-time PA announcer, (over 40 years), Paul Morris who retired at the end of the 1998/99 hockey season. Andy is also a disc jockey for CILQ (Q107), a radio station with a classic rock format based in Toronto, Ontario. His show, "Psychedelic Psunday", as its name indicates, focuses on psychedelic music. He is also the host of Frost Overnight, which airs Monday to Thursday from midnight to 5 a.m. on Q107.

Frost is also the host of Leaf Talk, which airs after every Toronto Maple Leaf game on AM640 Toronto Radio. It invites listeners to call in and share their thoughts on the game.

Andy's broadcast career started back home in Winnipeg in the late 1970s. He first worked as a volunteer disc jockey, hosting an on-air music program at the University of Manitoba's college station CJUM-FM 101.5. In around 1980, he joined 92 CITI-FM as a disc jockey and later became their music director. During his tenure at 92 CITI-FM, he also worked as the radio colour commentator on some Winnipeg Jets road games for CITI-FM's sister station 58 CKY-AM. He moved to Toronto in the fall of 1985.
