An official Census 2011 detail of Pakur, a district of Jharkhand has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Jharkhand. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Pakur District of Jharkhand.

In 2011, Pakur had population of 899,200 of which male and female were 453,101 and 446,099 respectively. There was change of 28.15 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Pakur District recorded increase of 24.35 percent to its population compared to 1991.

The initial provisional data suggest a density of 498 in 2011 compared to 389 of 2001. Total area under Pakur district is of about 1,806 sq.km.

Average literacy rate of Pakur in 2011 were 50.17 compared to 30.65 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 59.02 and 41.23 respectively. For 2001 census, same figures stood at 40.23 and 20.61 in Pakur District. Total literate in Pakur District were 363,153 of which male and female were 214,763 and 148,412 respectively.
