- International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu
The largest hot air balloon festival in Canada, held each August in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, about 20 minutes southeast of Montreal and about halfway between Montreal and Vermont. Actual flight launch is between 6:00 to 7:00 pm max due to near perfect weather with no storm activity within range and winds below 15 km an hour are ideal conditions from ground level up.
