Wychbold is a village in the
Wychavon district ofWorcestershire ,England . It is by junction 5 of the M5, and is on the A38 north-east ofDroitwich , near to where they cross theRiver Salwarpe . Just outside the village on the A38 isWebbs of Wychbold , one of the UK's largest garden centres. Wychbold First and Nursery School is the only school in the village, with approximately 60 pupils. There is a post office/shop and a petrol station. The 144 bus service connects Wychbold toWorcester andBirmingham . Nearby areUpton Warren andStoke Prior to the north-east, andRashwood to the south-west.Wychbold is the the home town of
Simon Pearce who was once known to ride horses through the town on route to close by Droitwich Spa, Once in Droitwich it is said that Simon would simply turn around and return to Wychbold as he missed the town so much. It is said that this is where the town's slogan 'Wychbold, you will always come back' originated from.Droitwich transmitting station is also situated close to Wychbold.
