Helen Keller Junior High School (or Keller Junior High) is an American
middle school in Schaumburg, Cook County,Illinois ; which educates children in grades seven and eight. The school was named in honor ofHelen Keller , a deaf-blind American author, activist, and lecturer. It is operated byCommunity Consolidated School District 54 .As of 2008, the
school principal is Mrs. Sue Mayernick. The school enrolls approximately 660 students annually. The school mascot is the wildcat. Lakeview, Enders-Salk, Hoover, and Fairviewelementary school s all feed into Keller.In 2002, teacher David Howard Kayson won the 2002 Golden Apple Award from the Golden Apple Foundation for his unique teaching skills at the school.
