Carey Young (born 1970) is a visual artist who incorporates a variety of media such as video,
photography , performative events and installation into her works, which investigate the increasing incorporation of the personal and public domains into the realm of the commercial. Young's projects often center onnotions of language, training and performance, and take an ambiguous political stance in order to create a web of complex associations and questions for the viewer.Born in
Lusaka inZambia in 1970, Young studied inEngland at Manchester Polytechnic, theUniversity of Brighton andphotography at theRoyal College of Art inLondon .
