Simon Youl (born
July 1 ,1965 , inSymmons Plains ,Tasmania ) is a former professionaltennis player fromAustralia .Youl turned professional in
1982 . During his career he won two top-level singles titles (at Schenectady in1989 , andSingapore in1992 ), and two tour doubles titles (Casablanca in1990 , andBucharest in1994 ). His best singles performances at Grand Slam events came in reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon in1988 (lost toStefan Edberg ) and theAustralian Open in 1990 (lost toIvan Lendl ).Youl's career-high rankings were World No. 80 in singles and World No. 63 in doubles (both in 1992).
Youl retired from the professional tour in
1994 . Since retiring as a player, he has worked as a tennis coach.External links
