Notables

* In 1991, with the opening of a new 1400 capacity building, SPSS became the first Peterborough high school in decades to institute a school uniform policy. The uniform, which included school pants, kilts and official "Saints" T-shirts in the school's colours, became a major issue between the students and faculty, and its enforcement causes problems to this day.

* St. Peter's is also known in Canada as the school which regularly raises the most money for the annual Terry Fox Run For The Cure, bringing in over $85 000 in 2002 and roughly $70 000 in its most recent 2005 campaign, adding to a total which well-exceeds $500 000 raised throughout approximately 15 years of the Run's existence.

* A film adaptation of Steven Gould's Science Fiction novel Jumper, Starring Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen has filmed some scenes in the halls, and classrooms of St. Peter's.
