Caron was a fourth-round pick in 1999 and is a butterfly goaltender most well known for his great save against the
Philadelphia Flyers . This save came early in the 2005–2006 season with his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. He started the season as back-up toJocelyn Thibault and ended it as back-up toMarc-Andre Fleury .Caron has a young son, Andrew, who was born premature and almost did not survive.
