- Clarence Worley

Clarence Worley is a fictional character from the 1993 film True Romance, played by Christian Slater.
In the film, he marries first time hooker Alabama Whitman (Patricia Arquette), and murders her pimp, Drexl Spivey (Gary Oldman). He then steals Spivey's cocaine and takes his new bride to Los Angeles. Clarence does not know, however, that the cocaine is owned by the Mafia, who chase him to get it back. In the film's climax, he is shot in the eye during a shootout between the Mafia and the police, but survives and lives happily ever after with Alabama.
Clarence is obsessed with Elvis Presley and is seen talking to an imaginary vision of Elvis (Val Kilmer) twice in the film, both when he is in the commode. The first time, "Elvis" tells him to murder Spivey, and the second, he convinces Clarence he is doing well in the dealings with film producer Lee Donowitz (Saul Rubinek). In both scenes, the imaginary Elvis says "I like you Clarence, always have...Always will."
