Balussery ("Balisery") is a small but fast developing town area located at the heart of Kozhikode district in Kerala state, south India.

Overview

Balussery block has an area of 278.54 sq.kms. There are Eight Grama Panchayats in the Block, namely Atholi, Balussery, Koorachundu,Kottur, Naduvannur,Panangad, Ulliyeri and Unnikulam. The total population is 212592; Males – 105962 and females – 106631.There is a famous temple in this place called Balussery Kotta - Vettakkorumakan Temple. ( just 2 km from buststand ). "Manjapuzha river" flows by the side of the Kotta temple.

The government offices are situated in the heart of the town itself. Branches of all the major banks functions here with ATM centers. A government sub treasury is also working at balusseri. Kerala State Electricity Board has a 33 KV substation at Manjappalam,a division office/subdivision and a section office here.

Regular bus services are available to Calicut,Thamarassery,Koorachundu,Quilandy,Koottalida and perambra etc.some mini buses connects the hinter land to Balussery Town. KSRTC is also operating services to hilly regions of Balussery like Mankayam and Koorachundu.

Vocational Higher Secondary School and GHSS girls high school.
