Patalkot, India

Patalkot [http://www.patalkot.com] (Sanskrit for "very deep") is a tourist site in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Located in a valley, the site is said to look like a horseshoe from above. Traditionally, the site is believed to be the entrance to Patal. Another common belief is that Meghnath, after worshiping Shiva, went to Patal-lok through this site. As mentioned by Dr Deepak Acharya in an article "Wisdom from the Heart of India" published in [http://www.publish.csiro.au/?act=view_file&file_id=EC134p18.pdf ECOS MAGAZINE, Australia] , Patalkot is home to a tribal culture and custom. The valley is such a beautiful place now facing threats of deforestation.
