Miranda Cooper

Miranda Cooper

Miranda Eleanor De Fonbrune Cooper[1] (born 1975)[2] has been on the UK charts longer than any other female songwriter in the country. In 2007 Harper's Bazaar wrote of her: ‘If it's a hit you want, you'd better talk to Cooper. For the rest of us, Cooper has the power to get a tune inside our heads.’

One of the most influential creators in 'noughties pop', Cooper co-wrote all the original singles of Girls Aloud and is currently writing and producing from her West-London base.

In 1997 she joined Brian Higgins as an original member of the UK-based song-writing and music production team Xenomania. From its Kent-based production and recording centre, ‘Xeno’ has, since 2002, achieved phenomenal commercial success and critical acclaim. Cooper co-wrote four of their UK Chart Number Ones: Sound of the Underground, Round Round, Hole in the Head and The Promise; and further hit singles and albums with top artists such as Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Gabriella Cilmi, Kylie Minogue and Alesha Dixon. She is currently working on new material for artists such as Soundgirl, Jodie Connor[3] and Cover Drive[4]and Diana Vickers.[5]
