"The Getaway" is a pop rock song written by Julian Bunetta and James Michael, and produced by Bunetta for Hilary Duff's second album, "Hilary Duff" (2004). It was released as a radio single in the United States in late November 2004 (see 2004 in music) [ [http://web.archive.org/web/20050205203808/http://www.z1035.com/pastpumpitresults.html "Past Pump it or Dump It Tracks"] . According to "Radio & Records" Canada, in its first week of release, the song was being added to the playlists of more contemporary hit radio stations than any other song, [ [http://www.luxuride.com/news.html "News - 'The Getaway' by Hilary Duff"] . Luxuride. January 24 2005. Retrieved October 27 2006.] and it became one of the most-played songs of the year on Mix 96 radio stations.
