[http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:hcfqxqyald0e~T1 allmusic ((( The Jenkins > Biography )))] ] To date, they have charted two singles on the U.S. "Billboard" Hot Country Songs charts: "Blame It on Mama" at #34 and "Getaway Car" at #38, the latter of which was later a single for the duo Hall & Oates as well. Both "Blame It on Mama" and "Getaway Car" were included on The Jenkins' self-titled debut album, issued in late 2004 on Capitol Records Nashville.

Biography

Nancy Jenkins and her daughters began to perform together when she started to produce the annual talent show at Kacie and Brodie's school. [http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/jenkins/bio.jhtml CMT.com : The Jenkins : Biography] ] When Kacie was in sixth grade, the three performed the Judds' song "Guardian Angel" in a school production; a songwriter who attended the show persuaded Nancy and her daughters to pursue a career as a country music trio. The three then recorded a demo tape, with Nancy writing some of the songs.

In 2003, the trio was signed to Capitol Records, with country music singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell as producer. [http://netmusiccountdown.com/inc/artist.php?artist=The+Jenkins Net Music Countdown : The Jenkins] ] "Blame It on Mama" was released as an advance single in early 2004; the song was a minor Top 40 hit on the "Billboard" U.S. Hot Country Songs chart. The single was followed by the release of the Jenkins' eponymous debut album, as well as a second single, "Getaway Car". "Getaway Car" was originally recorded by 4 Runner on their album "Getaway Car", and would later be a hit on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts when Hall & Oates recorded it. The Jenkins left Capitol in 2008.
