In January 2001, through the efforts of principal Mary Cavalier, the
Center for Collaborative Education named ARMS the first demonstration school for their National Turning Points Center program. This facilitated an afterschool program called "Savuka," which allowed students to stay after class and to participate in a number of teacher-led clubs. The Savuka program was shut down prior to the 2007-08 school year, but many of the clubs are still offered.Since 2004, meals have been supplied by
Chartwells , a major educational institution foodservice provider. [ [http://www.arps.org/FoodServices/departmentabstract07 Memo ] ] Mary Cavalier retired in 2006 and was replaced by Fran Zipperstein and Mike Hayes as co-interim principals.ee also
