Voltage = 1,500V DC Overhead wiresThe Iarnród Éireann 8200 Class electrical multiple units were built for the Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART). The units are two-car sets, of which there are five. They are numbered in the sequence 8201+8401, etc... The units first entered service in 2000. The units have operated in multiple with the 8500 and 8510 classes.

The five members of this class have spent long periods out of service, the most recent being from Summer 2007 until March 2008. Four of the units are in operation while the remaining unit is stored at Fairview depot.
