Scott Feldman is a news anchor for News 12 Long Island
Feldman began his radio and television journalism career circa 1970. He is currently the evening co-anchor and political correspondent for News 12 Long Island. Scott is also the host of the popular "Long Island Challenge" - a high school scholastic quiz show for Long Island high school students. Feldman has been honored with many awards for outstanding news and sports reporting, including four New York Emmys Fact|article|date=June 2007, National Headliners Fact|article|date=June 2007, New York Festivals World Medal Fact|article|date=June 2007, local CableAce Fact|article|date=June 2007, and UPI Eastern Region Reporter of the Year Fact|article|date=June 2007.
Feldman has reported on the Kansas City Hyatt Hotel skywalk collapse, the "Challenger" shuttle hearings, the crash of Avianca Flight 052, TWA Flight 800 and the World Trade Center attack, in addition to local and national election coverage. Scott has been recognized for his community efforts on behalf of the Cerebral Palsy Association, American Heart Association, Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation, Prostate Cancer Care of Long Island, and NY Mental Health Services Council.
An avid golfer, Scott is a member of the NY Metropolitan Golf Writers Association.
Prior to joining News 12 in 1988 , Feldman worked as an anchor and reporter in Toledo, Cleveland-Akron, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Phoenix, and Kansas City.
He was also a Capitol Hill correspondent for TV stations around the country, as well as a reporter for ESPN in Washington, D.C.
Scott, a native of St. Louis, graduated from the University of Denver in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and National Guard.
Scott and his wife, Janet, live on the South Shore of Long Island in Suffolk County.
