United States-Indonesia Society

The United States-Indonesia Society, USINDO, is an organization funded by U.S. and Indonesian corporations, foundations, and individuals interested in United States – Indonesian relations. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the Board of Trustees is co-chaired by Edward Masters (former United States Ambassador to Indonesia) and Arifin Siregar (former Indonesia Ambassador to United States). USINDO offers educational programs in both the United States and Indonesia. It also publishes monographs on topics of interest in U.S. – Indonesian relations; for example, in 2003 it published "Report of the National Commission on U.S. – Indonesian Relations” (this and other publications are available at http://www.usindo.org/publications/index.html). As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, USINDO does not lobby the U.S. Congress or the administration on any particular piece of legislation or policy. USINDO has nearly 800 members, of whom approximately 600 live in the U.S., 150 in Indonesia, and the remainder in ten other countries.
