November 6 1939 –March 20 2007 ) was an American professional footballoffensive tackle who played for 13 seasons, from1960 AFL season to 1969 in theAmerican Football League , and 1970-1972 in the NFL. He was an original Los Angeles Charger, and LA/San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame coachSid Gillman called the tandem of Wright and Hall of FamerRon Mix "The best pair of offensive tackles in Pro Football'" He also played for the AFL'sCincinnati Bengals , both in the American Football League and in the NFL. Wright was a starter for the Chargers in their 51-10 victory over theBoston Patriots in the 1963 AFL Championship game, and was an AFL All-Star in 1961, 1963 and 1965. He was one of only twenty men who played all ten years of the AFL's existence.Wright died of cancer in 2007.
