Faxe municipality is a municipality (Danish, "kommune" in
Denmark inRegion Sjælland on the island ofZealand . The municipality covers an area of 406 km² and has a population of 35,418 (2008).As of
January 1 ,2007 Faxe municipality, as the result of "Kommunalreformen" ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), came into existence as a municipality by merging the three former municipalities ofHaslev ,Fakse , andRønnede .Geography

June 5 , 2007, it was reported by national broadcasterDanmarks Radio that an unknown hill near Rønnede (town), namedKobanke , has the highest natural point of terrain, 122.9 m (403.2 feet) onSjælland .Gyldenløveshøj has an altitude of 126 m (413.4 feet), but that is due to a manmade hill from the 1600s. Its natural height is 121.3 m (397.96 feet).External links
