Dai TamesueMen's Athletics Competitor for Japan World Championships Bronze 2001 Edmonton 400 m hurdles Bronze 2005 Helsinki 400 m hurdles Asian Games Bronze 2002 Busan 400 m hurdles Dai Tamesue (為末大 Tamesue Dai , born May 3, 1978 in Hiroshima) is an Japanese athlete, competing mainly in 400 m hurdles but also 400 m.
Tamesue won a bronze medal at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, setting a new personal best of 47.89 which still stands, and won another bronze medal at the 2002 Asian Games. He finished third again at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics with 48.10. In driving rain, he started fast to take the early lead before being overtaken on the final bend. He dived over the line for a bronze to edge out Kerron Clement of the USA who jogged over the line.
He lives in San Diego, and trains in the Chula Vista Olympic Center. Studies ESL and is married. One of his hobbies is ride bicycles to commute around the Balboa Park area were he lives.
