United States of America . Students are divided into four "Key Stages" of their education, which last for approximately three to four years. At the end of each stage they are subject to a standardised test taken in conjunction with theUnited Kingdom . The Key Stage program finishes in Year 11 (equivalent to the 10th grade in US schools) with the final tests of the GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and graduatesecondary school after Year 13 (equivalent to 12th grade in US schools) with anIB Diploma .Teachers

Basketball andLacrosse team, as well as adance team . A senior-student run dance team has been established, which acts as an impromptu cheerleader squad at basketball games.The New Building
The British School of Washington has recently relocated to a 75,000 sq ft establishment at 2001 Wisconsin Avenue, NW. The school stated that it had "Outgrown" it's current facilities and could longer support the number of students that attended the school. The move commenced following the winter vacation in January 2008.
Notable
The British School of Washington has been the home of the DC champ for the National Geography Bee for 4 years.
