According to "The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians", "the terms 'bağlama ' and 'saz' are used somewhat interchangeably in Turkey, applied to a long-neckedlute of folk traditions; the tanbūr (distinguished as the 'great' tanbūr) is a larger instrument ofart music ."NewGrove2001|Tanbūr|Scheherezade Qassim Hassan , R.
