Tayto (Northern Ireland) Limited is a manufacturer of
crisps and corn snacks based inTandragee ,County Armagh . They employ 300 people at their plant in Tandragee Castle and remain the largest selling brand of crisps inNorthern Ireland .History
Tayto (Northern Ireland) was formed in
1956 and licenced the name and recipes ofTayto in theRepublic of Ireland . The two companies operate entirely separately, but have a similar range of products.On
13 January 2006 it was announced that Tayto (NI) were to acquire theCorby site of the formerGolden Wonder business and the contract to produce MiniPringles forProcter & Gamble . This secured some 195 jobs out of 350 that were under threat following Golden Wonder's entry into administration on9 January 2006 .In December 2007 Tayto (NI) acquired Sirhowy Valley Foods Ltd, makers of the Real Crisps range. On the 14 March 2008 it was announced that Tayto would acquire

Like their counterparts in the Republic, their signature brand is their Cheese and Onion flavour crisps. The distinctively strong flavouring makes this a particularly popular item with Northern Irish expatriates.
The firm has a record of memorable advertising campaigns, and currently has a franchising deal to produce
Postman Pat themed Prawn Cocktail corn snacks.References
