is a municipality in the county of Telemark, Norway.

Bø was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Lunde was separated from Bø 1867.

Bø is famous for its waterpark Sommarland (the largest of its kind in Norway), its folk traditions and for hosting one of four branches of Telemark University College (Høgskolen i Telemark). Bø has several times been called "the most beautiful place on earth" in modern literature, among others in Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsons "A happy kid".

Another popular sight in Bø is the traditional bar "Stallkroa", with its wooden interior and hillbilly clientele and the rockformation Gygrestol.

The name

The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old farm Bø (Norse "Bœr"), since the first church was built here. The name is identical with the word "bœr" m 'homestead, farm'.

Coat-of-arms

The coat-of-arms is from modern times (1988). It shows three fiddles.
