The Atlantic Coast League for Professional Baseball, based in Winston-Salem, NC, is a professional, independent baseball organization. The proposed league is set to take the field in either 2009 or 2010. League CEO, Michael W. Harden, has had preliminary talks with several cities throughout the Southeast. In particular, the league has approached cities that had teams in the now defunct South Coast League including Macon, GA and Anderson, SC [http://www.independentmail.com/news/2008/jul/01/acl-official-visits-anderson/] . Other potential markets include: Columbus, GA; Jackson, MS; Albany, GA; Fort Mill, SC.
