Sara Schaefer (born July 10, 1978) is a comedy writer, producer and actor, presently living in New York City (NYC), New York, United States. She was raised in Richmond, Virginia, and attended college at William & Mary. After college, she moved in 2000 to New Orleans, Louisiana, participating in the theater scene there. She is currently the Head Blogger for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, for which she won the Emmy Award for Creative Achievement in Interactive Media (non-fiction) in both 2009 and 2010.
In 2001 she moved to NYC and began writing, producing and performing comedy. She also worked as a financial analyst (December 2001 through May 2006) in an NYC law firm. In 2006-2007, she hosted an on-line comedy/music show for AOL called The DL, for which she made around 350 videos or segments with a varied assortment of noted and upcoming artists, musicians and performers, from Hulk Hogan and Aretha Franklin to Jimmy Fallon and Jamie Kennedy. In 2008, she was an editor at BestWeekEver.tv. She has appeared on E!, Vh1, and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
In 2007, she was a featured performer at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, and in 2009 she was listed as one of New York Magazine's 10 Comics to Watch.
