Ovation is a Russian National Music Award in the field of entertainment and popular music.
It is the Russian analogue of foreign music awards - American «Grammy» and the British «Brit awards». First Prize ceremony Ovation "was held in 1992 and initiated its establishment became a businessman Grigory Kuznetsov.
The awards ceremony - a statue depicting a pair of cheering hand - held annually in the concert hall "Russia" or in the State Kremlin Palace. Originally proposed to determine the winners by the audience: any of them could buy a special card, fill it out and send the organizer. However, this method helped to identify the winners only at the first ceremony in 1992. In all subsequent "Ovation" winners were determined by a special jury - Higher Academic Commission, which consists of show business figures, journalists, representatives of culture.
Figurines "Ovation" handed over several dozen nominations, including "Soloist of the Year, Composer of the Year, Best R & B Album, Best Vocal Debut of the Year", etc., are awarded with special prize - "Living Legend" "For a special contribution to the development of national culture."
