Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy Motto Veritas Vos Liberabit Established 2000[1] Type Private/Catholic President Keith Cassidy[2] Undergraduates 81 full-time Location Barry's Bay, Ontario, CN Campus Rural Website www.seatofwisdom.org Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy is a Catholic liberal arts college founded in the year 2000 in Barry's Bay, Ontario, situated in the Madawaska valley, on the shores of Kamaniskeg Lake. With a current enrolment for the 2010/11 academic year of 81 full time and a number of part time students[3], the college offers a three year curriculum in the classical, Thomistic tradition, including theology, philosophy, logic, history, literature, languages, mathematics and natural science. OLSWA is known for its conservative values and traditional Catholic teaching.[4]
Academic programs
Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy (OLWSA) offers the following certificate programs:[5]
- Certificate of Christian Humanities (96 credit hours)
- General Certificate of Christian Humanities (96 credit hours)
- Associate Certificate of Christian Humanities (64 credit hours)
- Basic Certificate of Christian Humanities (32 credit hours)
At present, OLWSA does not offer a 4-year degree, but hopes to offer one in the future. As Our Lady Seat of Wisdom is not accredited, many students have transferred to other 4-year institutions such as Christendom College, Franciscan University of Steubenville and Ave Maria College.[6]
