Ostrog is a small village to the north Dolnja Prekopa in the Šentjernej municipality in southeastern Slovenia. Its territory extends north of the main settlement to the banks of the river Krka. The entire municipality was traditionally part of Lower Carniola. It is now included in the Jugovzhodna Slovenija statistical region.[2]
