History
Dalecarlian is a North Germanic language that has probably existed since the Swedish language separated from Norwegian. Dalecarlian is divided into three geographical areas; Västerdalarna, Ovansiljan and Nedansiljan. Ovansiljan is then divided into seven dialects; Elfdalian, Orsamål, Våmhusmål, Venjansmål, Moramål, Sollerömål and Oremål. Solmål, Venjansmål and Våmhusmål often used to be included in Moramål, even if Våmhusmål is more reminiscent of Elfdalian. Oremål is more closely related to Moramål rather than Orsamål, even though Ore is geographicly closer to Orsa.
