- Orpheus mosaics
-
Orpheus mosaics are found in several contexts throughout the Roman Empire. The subject is found, for example, in Woodchester in the present day United Kingdom[1] as well as Volubilis in present day Morocco.[2] Orpheus was a popular subject in classical art, and was also used in Early Christian art as a symbol for Christ.
