Orchid Bay, Belize

Orchid Bay is a 114-acre (0.46 km²) residential community on the Chetumal Bay in the Corozal District of northern Belize.^[1] Its New Urbanist architecture is influenced by British Colonial and Spanish Colonial styles of the Caribbean. ^[1] Great Land Holdings L.P. ("GLH") is its owner and developer.^[2] It is part of Punta Alegre, which comprises 4,000 acres (16 km²) of sea frontage between the Maya ruins at Cerros to the west and the Shipstern Nature Reserve to the east.^[2][3] Punta Alegre Water Services (PAWS), the local utility, is a division of GLH.^[4] The Black Orchid is the restaurant and bar of the Orchid Bay Beach Club, which comprises dozens of Maya inspired casitas. The thirteen room Crimson Orchid Inn is in the Orchid Bay neighborhood named Pesacadores Park. In 2010, Orchid Bay was featured on HGTV's International House Hunters, when a casita was purchased on the program.
