Ondori Island

Ondori Island (69°0′S 39°32′E / 69°S 39.533°E / -69; 39.533) is a small island lying 1 nautical mile (1.9 km) north of Ongul Island and 0.8 nautical miles (1.5 km) west of Nesoya in the northeast part of Lutzow-Holm Bay. Mapped from surveys and air photos by the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE), 1957-62. The name "Ondori-jima" (rooster island) was given by JARE Headquarters in 1972 in association with nearby Mendori Island.
