History

Founded in 1991, Omnivex Corporation is a global provider of software solutions designed to be the management backbone for digital signage systems.[1] Omnivex originally supplied software to financial trading floors to post buy/sell positions on large LED wallboards and drive financial tickers. Trading floors were quick to adopt large plasma displays to monitor television news reports. These displays could also be used to help traders spot market trends and developed applications to display data graphically. Business intelligence software used real time information to facilitate decision making but extending that model to visual communication to large audiences was a new application. Omnivex then moved into the broader digital signage market using a data driven approach to deliver targeted information to specific audiences.

Omnivex software is used in more than 50 countries around the world and includes many Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of vertical markets.[2]

About Omnivex digital solutions

Omnivex offers a software suite designed specifically for managing electronic signage networks. There are several names associated with this medium including digital signage, narrowcasting, electronic billboards, out-of-home media networks, and many others. Omnivex is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and this designation gives them access to all of Microsoft’s beta programs and latest developments well before the time of their release.[3] Additionally, Omnivex software is built on Microsoft® Windows® technology and does not require any proprietary hardware. The types of display hardware used include plasma displays, LCD panels, video cubes, projectors and full matrix LED boards. Omnivex provides the tools to control and monitor remote devices and to acquire and distribute real-time data from multiple sources. Live data allows customers to build intelligence into their digital signage solution, allowing content to automatically change in reaction to external conditions. Automation aims to increase effectiveness and minimize the operating costs of running a digital signage network. Content delivery is done using standard TCP/IP protocols.

Omnivex Moxie digital signage software

In March 2009, Omnivex introduced Moxie, an integrated digital signage platform leveraging the graphics capabilities of Microsoft’s Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). This allowed Moxie to make any visual element dynamic by binding it to a live data source. Moxie was recognized in 2009 DIGI Awards as the Best New Premise-based Digital Signage Software product.[4] It has since received many additional awards of excellence.

Contextual communication is at the core of the Omnivex brand message. The company provides an effective way to inform, persuade, motivate and engage an audience to ensure that the right message reaches the right consumers, in the right place, at the right time.[5] With Moxie, Omnivex has created an intelligent and comprehensive digital signage software solution. Moxie introduces true dynamic graphics to the realm of digital signage. With Moxie, graphics can scale to fit each screen resolution and are rendered in real time, with any aspect of the content able to change dynamically.[6] This ability for the software to decide what to present based on internal and external information saves hours of content reworking, eliminates redistribution costs and provides instant updates to increase the value of a company's message. Omnivex Moxie software is used by companies within a variety of industries, including healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, education, financial services and hospitality.
