- Omnitriloquism
-
Omnitriloquism is the [usually] stagecraft act of producing multiple simultaneous sounds from one's mouth, using no external aids. Omnitriloquists commonly imitate the sound of music while singing, but can also combine other sound effects or multiple voices. While these sounds will frequently come from the omnitriloquist's mouth, often they can be produced from the nose and even ears as well, giving additional depth and variety to the noise produced. Omnitriloquism is a very rare art, and there are few known omnitriloquists in the world. One notable omnitriloquist is comedian Dwight Slade who uses this skill in his stand-up comedy routine.[1]
Omnitriloquism is often confused with Ventriloquism, and while similarities in methodology do exist, omnitriloquism is much more complex and is thought to be a genetically inherited skill, unlike ventriloquism, which is considered a "learned art".[2]
