Nyoshul Khenpo Rinpoche

Nyoshul Khenpo Rinpoche (1932-1999) was a Tibetan lama born in the Derge region of Kham.^[1][2]

At age five, Rinpoche joined a Sakya monastery where he began his Buddhist studies.^[1] At age seventeen, he studied Longchen Nyingthig teachings^[1] and Dzogchen^[2] at the Nyoshul monastery.^[1] In 1959, when he was twenty seven, he fled to India as the Chinese invaded Tibet.^[3][1]

In India, Rinpoche studied under Dudjom Rinpoche,^[3] Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche^[3] and the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa.^[1]

Some of Rinpoche's students include Lama Surya Das^[4][5] and Sogyal Rinpoche.^[6]
