NWSPCA Type Charity Industry Animal welfare Founded 2004 Headquarters Republic of Ireland Website [1] The North West Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(NWSPCA) is based in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. They are manned entirely by volunteers and are constantly working to promote animal welfare in the north west of Ireland. The NWSPCA receive work with cases of neglect and cruelty, these cases involve dogs, cats, horses, goats and donkeys. They work to help animals that have been abused
Missions
Current campaigns are:
Re-homing of abandoned - stay dogs,cats and other animals.
The neutering of dogs and cats to prevent unwanted litters.
The rescue of abused or neglected animals.
The monitoring of horses and donkeys in rural/urban areas.
Promotion of animal welfare awareness.
NWSPCA Facts
The NWSPCA have re homed over 100 dogs and cats from January to May 2008.
The NWSPCA have funded veterinary treatment of over 50 dogs and 30 cats so far in 2008.
Over the course of the past 4 years the NWSPCA has looked after 1000 dogs and cats and some other species of pets including, goats, donkeys, birds, hedgehogs, a pig and a swan.
