The temple is classified as "Divya Desams", the 108 temples of Vishnu reverred by the 12 poet saints, or Alwars.[1]
The Temple
This is the place is reverred by the verses of Tirumangai Alvar. The temple has a large gopuram and a large temple compound having 5 prakarams(closed precincts of a temple).[2] The temple has a 5-tier rajagopuram.
