Their software, Nimbula Director, is designed to make it easier for Service Providers and Enterprises to build, manage and deploy IaaS offerings similar to Amazon EC2. The company emerged from stealth mode in June 2010[4][5] and launched a public beta of its software in December 2010[6]. Nimbula Director 1.0 was announced in March 2011 and released in April 2011.[7][8]

Features
Nimbula Director is a Cloud Operating System that allows users to implement IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) style private, public and hybrid clouds. The software is aimed at both enterprise customers and service providers. It can manage both on- and off-premise infrastructure through a Web UI, an API or a command line interface.

History
The company was first incorporated as Benguela and changed its name to Nimbula as it emerged from stealth mode in June 2010.[9] Nimbula was founded by Chris Pinkham and Willem Van Biljon in 2008. The company has raised a total of $20.75M in venture funding [10][11][12] from Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners and VMware.

Nimbula Director is the company’s flagship product. It enables users to build, manage and deploy compute cloud environments on their own infrastructure. The product is available as a public for download from https://nimbula.com/product/. The Nimbula Director license agreement allows deployment of the software on up to 40 CPU cores without a license fee.
