Nidec Corporation (日本電産株式会社 Nihon Densan Kabushikigaisha) is a manufacturer of electric motors in Japan. Their products are found in hard-disk drives, household electric appliances, commercial and manufacturing equipment.[1] The two product groups with the largest sales are hard-disk drive motors (30% of sales) and electrical and optical components (21.5%). The paid-in capital is 66,248,341,486 Japanese yen.[2] The company has its headquarters in Minami-ku, Kyoto, and plants in Nagaokakyō[3], Thailand, the People's Republic of China, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.[4] Nidec was Number 42 on the Business Week IT 100.[5]
Nidec is listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange with number 65940.[6] It is indexed in the Topix Large 70 and other indexes.[7]
