Players (Hindi: प्लेयर्स) is an upcoming action thriller[1] film directed by Abbas-Mustan, starring Bobby Deol, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Omi Vaidya and Sikander Kher. It is based on the 2003 American film, The Italian Job.[2]

The film was initially supposed to feature Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra who were subsequently replaced by Sonam Kapoor and Bipasha Basu. There were rumours that the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were also being considered for the roles that Sonam Kapoor and Bipasha Basu are enacting.

The film began its initial schedule on November 9, 2010 and the filming will continue throughout India, New Zealand and Russia. The filming took place in Goa, New Zealand's Wellington and Auckland earlier in 2011, and a long schedule was also shot in Siberia, St Petersburg and other locations in India. [3][4]

Players was set to release on 9 December 2011 with Agent_Vinod_(2012_film) and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, but is now pushed to 6 January 2012 making it the first release of 2012.[5] players first look was unveiled on 3 November 2011 and music will be launched on November 30. The track used in the trailer is said to be from a band and the makers have bought the rights for it.
